Notes: The pickguard is a reproduction. Has original hardshell case“This L-5 was gifted to me by my brother, Andy Goessling, who passed away in 2018,” says the guitar’s current owner Dave Goessling. “Andy was a well-known bluegrass, roots and jazz multi-instrumentalist who was a founder member of the ‘jam band’ Railroad Earth. He played and recorded with Leon Redbone, David Bromberg, John McEuen, Warren Haynes, Phil Lesh and many others.
“He found the guitar in an antique shop near his home in Northern New Jersey and I believe that he paid around $1000 for it. It needed work, including the regluing of an internal brace and a new pickguard. The restoration was done by Brothers Music Shop in Wind Gap, PA, which is run by two former Martin Guitar repair men.”
