Body: 17-inch body with maple back and sides and small unbound f-holes 

Hardware: Gold-plated metal parts including flat tailpiece engraved with ‘L-5’ legend and long bound pickguard

Notes: The tuners have been replaced and the hardshell case pictured is not original. A floating pickup may have been fitted at some point

This guitar is one of 212 Sunburst Advanced L-5s shipped in 1937

According to Joe Spann, this L-5 was shipped March 5th 1937 to multi-instrumentalist Roy Smeck in a #600 case with a zippered cover
