Companies like Epiphone and individual luthiers such as John D’Angelico were quick to produce their own interpretations of Gibson’s ground breaking f-hole archtop. In addition, Gibson expanded its own range to include cheaper (the L-7, L-10 and L-12) and more expensive (the Super 400) alternatives. Here we see the pre-war rivals to the Gibson crown…
